Glasses by Jalen

PF Changs keeps kids entertained by giving them bendable plastic-like strings. Jalen used them to make glasses for him and the girls.

Snow time!

The kids woke up early to a backyard full of fresh snow that they quickly messed up.

Mia looking cool and bundled up for her first sledding experience.

Sledding time!

Fun photo shoot!

Mia and I had a photo session with Kristin (Mia's school friend's mom) today. I know, I know, we just had photos taken on Maui (http://adventures-of-mia.blogspot.com/2007/08/photo-shoot-on-kamaole-iii-beach.html, thanks again, Suz!) and normally, I wouldn't do another one so soon after we just did one. BUT after I saw Kristin's pictures, I couldn't resist. Her photos are not just photos, they're works of art! And her prices are very reasonable. I haven't seen all the shots yet, but she gave me a small sample.
Mia got a lollipop for being such a good sport, but she refused to look at the camera. We got the "Leave me alone and no, I won't look at the camera" attitude, but it worked for this picture.

I wasn't around when Krisitn took this shot, but she captured Mia's spirit in this one. Mia is singing and dancing around the house all day, kinda like this...

Here's a couple of me & Mia...

To see a few more samples from our day, visit Kristin's blog: http://kristineldridgephoto.typepad.com/my_weblog/ These cute pictures are going to motivate me to get a "Happy New Year" card out...or, maybe at this late date it'll be a "Happy Valentine's Day" card...we'll see!

Is this blog entry a pitch for Kristin...YES! In addition to being great with kids (her patience is amazing) and super talented, she has become a good friend...so if there's anything I can do to help a friend, you know I will! =) Check out Kristin's other work and get additional info at: http://www.kristineldridge.com/

Ellen & Manny used Kristin and got these super cute photos.

One of my personal favorites...

Happy Birthday Great Gandma!

It was Mia's great grandma's birthday today. We went out to dinner and it brought out her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. In total, she has 7 kids, 14 grandkids and 6 great grandkids...WOW!

New adventures at the park

We are taking advantage of these rare sunny January days and went to the school park today, so that Mia would have a flat surface to ride her bike. While there, she found new stuff to play with. This is a tetter totter like thing that spins. I sat on it and thought it was a bit scary, but Mia loved it and even did "no hands" while spinning!

She also found this balancing activity that she was able to get across with a little help. Fun stuff!

January day in the park

We took advantage of the nice weather today and let the kids ride their bikes in the park. This picture exhausts me because once they were done and headed off to the play structure, I had to move the bikes up the hill.

The girls doing what they love best...being with each other.

They agreed to sing for the camera and indulged me with answering some questions.

And here are our boys.

And of course, once they saw the girls' singing video, they did one too...listen to the end, I think Wai Wai surprised me & Jalen with his answer to "Who's your best friend?". But in realty, they are all best friends.

Happy New Year & God Bless America

Happy New Year! I got Mia to sing God Bless America with the camera rolling this morning. Mia says the Pledge of Allegiance and then they go right into God Bless America every morning at school. I am pretty impressed that in the 3 year old class, some of the kids know all the words...or rather, I should say, they sing the words they think they hear as evident by Mia.

The girl does have enthusiasm, doesn't she?!
