Zoo in the morning and then Pool Party at the Lynn's

We had a nice start to Memorial Day with a morning at the Oakland Zoo with the Cho's.
It was a beautiful day for the Sky Ride:
Then we headed to the Lynn's for a pool party. What a bad blogger I am...no pictures of the kids in the pool! But, I have pictures of the girls...

Gilroy Gardens for Memorial Day Weekend

Mia had a good time at Gilroy Gardens with her mom and dad.

It is a great place for toddlers...nice rides and beautiful surroundings. Here's Mia on the spinning ride, fish ride and parachute ride. The videos of each ride are below.

Dancing to Cinderella

Mia has really been into princesses now for a few months. She can often be found in her room with her Cinderella dress on, singing "Dreams Come True" (from the Cinderella movie, of course), dancing and dancing. I was able to sneak up on her and get it on video...I love these moments!

Happy 3rd Birthday to Dominic & Jillian!

Mia had a busy day with two birthday parties, so she was dressed for the occassion.

We helped Dominic celebrate his birthday at Sulphur Creek. Mia, Wai Wai & Kailey got to see a toad, turtle and chinchilla.

Then we went to Jillian's party where she got a lot of dress-up princess clothes. She was great at sharing her new dresses, so everyone got to be a princess! (Mia, Jillian, Taylor)

I better keep Mia away from the birthday candles...

See you next time NYC!

Thanks for a memorable trip, Auntie Fer Fer and Uncle Daylan! We spent our last day at Prospect Park in Brooklyn. Mia introduced herself to all the kids & their nannies, feed the birds, played in the park and took her last subway ride of this trip.

We got to the airport early enough to have dinner. Mia impressed us with her chopstick abilities. She plucked two cherries out of her shirley temple using chopsticks...not bad, eh?

Heading home using her headsets on Jet Blue. As usual, she is more interested in the tv than me!

Central Park & the Zoo

We had a great day in Central Park. Mia saw a family of baby ducks, played in a playground, listened to live music and got scared during the sea lion feeding at the zoo. It was a full day, topped off with dinner with my friend Leonora...which, unfortunately, I didn't get a pix of the two of them.

Happy Mother's Day!

Mia and I celebrated Mother's Day on Broadway to see Beauty and the Beast. Mia did amazingly well throughout the show except for the last 10 minutes of act one...the Beast's growl was a little scary, so we left for a bit. Act 2 was all about Belle & the Beast falling in love, so we made it through to the end with no other exits...not bad for a two year old!

We met up with Panda and Baby Ani later that evening. And yes, that would be Mia in her Cinderella dress out in public.

More NYC fun...

Mia and I got a warm welcome to the subway. Our first train was running on a different train's schedule, but we figured it out and found our way. Later that morning, I took Mia and the stroller to hop on the train to Chinatown and once we got down there, a very small sign said "No trains uptown at this station". Why would the sign be all the way at the tracks and not at the top of the entrance?!?! That's NY for ya...but it was a gorgeous day to have to walk ALL the way to the City Hall station. On the way, Mia had fun at this water fountain in the City Hall park:

Mia & Uncle Daylan at the American Museum of Natural History...one of the coolest museums I've ever been to!

Fun at FAO Schwarz

FAO Schwarz is so much more than a toy store! Mia had fun seeing the life size stuffed animals, playing the floor piano, doing arts & crafts, and enjoying a build your own sundae (with sorbet of course!).

Getting attacked by an octopus:

Watch out NYC...Mia's in town!

We took the red eye and got into town at 6am! We took a nap and then headed out for a late lunch with Auntie Fer Fer. These two get along like a day hasn't passed since they saw each other last:

Monterey Bay Aquarium

Mia looks like she had a blast touching the sea animals...she was asked "nicely" to put that sea shell back down!

Here she is at the new tidal wave exhibit:

Mia in Monterey

Mia went to Monterey with her dad. He let her drive the golf cart to the hotel room:

And then, he let her go on a shopping spree...don't worry, most of the candy is still in the bags!
